Surprise is the far northwest edge of the area we run to routinely, and it is largely 1-story residential with a lot of established landscaping.
Mature trees mean stump grinding is one of the more common bookings out here, and the Dosko fits through a standard garden gate to reach them.
1-story also means the small machines cover almost everything, and it is rare that a job in Surprise needs anything taller than the 19 ft scissor lift or heavier than the S70.
The other thing worth knowing is the retirement community factor. A lot of Surprise sits inside HOAs with rules about work hours, noise and which route a delivery truck can take through the neighborhood. Tell us the community name when you book and we will plan the drop around it.
Before you dig
Call Arizona 811 first
Arizona law requires a utility locate before any digging, and it applies to homeowners as well as contractors. The call is free and the marks are free.
In older parts of the valley the irrigation, low voltage lighting and gas runs sit shallower than people expect, and a bucket or a grinder wheel finds them quickly.
Yes, we run to Surprise regularly. 40 to 50 min northwest, up the 101 and out the 60. Deliveries go out Monday to Friday between 3 and 11 a.m.
How much is equipment delivery to Surprise?
From $125 each way on a compact machine, $175 on a mid size one and $270 on a large one, in the 31 to 40 mi band. All of the city sits in that one band.
What does it cost to rent a scissor lift in Surprise?
The 19 ft machine is $143/day, and delivered both ways in the 31 to 40 mi band that comes to $493 before tax and the damage waiver.
Can I collect a machine myself instead of having it delivered to Surprise?
On the light end of the fleet, yes. Compactors, the turf brush, the stump grinder and both trailer types are warehouse pickup items you can collect from the yard on East Victory Street. Either skid steer can also be collected if you have a suitable trailer.
How quickly can you get a machine to Surprise?
Same day is often possible when the machine is on the yard and the address is inside our normal run. Otherwise it goes out the next weekday morning.
Is it worth renting for 1 day in Surprise?
Usually not. At the 31 to 40 mi band the round trip freight is $350 on a mid size machine, which is most of the way to a week of rental. Most bookings out here take the week instead.
