19 ft narrow
electric scissor
lift rental
Genie GS-1930, Skyjack SJIII 3219 or similar, just 30 to 32 in wide, so it rolls through a shop door and into a finished building without marking the floor. It gives you 25 ft of working height, on battery, indoors and quiet.
Rates don't include delivery, the 15% damage waiver or tax. See your out-the-door price with a quick quote. Delivery is required and billed each way.
It fits through the door you already have
At 30 to 32 in wide, depending on the model, and 80 in tall folded, it clears a 36 in door, fits most freight lifts and turns inside its own footprint, which is the whole reason to take it over a taller machine.
Batteries and solid rubber tires let it work inside an occupied building, with no exhaust and no marks on a finished floor. It is quiet enough to run through a tenant's business hours.
If the floor is dirt or graded, or something sits between you and the work, then this is the wrong machine and you want a boom lift instead.
Rent it when the work is straight overhead on a flat floor

Which term to book
The day rate is $143 and the week is $287, so the week pays for itself on the second day and the rest of it is free. The 4-week rate breaks even at about 2⅓ weeks.
If there is any chance the job runs past Tuesday, book the week. Most crews just book the 4 weeks and stop thinking about it entirely.
Included with every rental
- A current annual inspection, with the operator manual riding in the machine
- A full function check before it leaves the yard, so nothing surprises you on site
- A phone number that reaches the yard directly rather than a call center
Will it fit? 4 things decide it
Measure before you bookDoorway width
At up to 32 in wide it wants a 36 in door to pass easily, so measure the tightest point on the whole route, not just the entry. Hallway turns and lift cabs are what stop a drop off.
Door and ceiling height
It stands 80 in folded, or 6 ft 8 in, which clears most roll up doors and freight lifts. This is the one number that catches people out, so check it before you book the machine.
Floor load and surface
The machine weighs 2,579 lb on 4 small wheels and needs a firm, level slab. Check the floor rating before you go up on a second story or over a basement, because the load under each wheel is far higher than the weight spread evenly.
Power for charging
You need a standard 110V outlet on site to charge it overnight, and if the job has no power yet, tell us when you book and we will plan around it.
Pothole guards deploy on their own. They drop when the platform rises, and they stop the machine driving over a floor opening or off a dock edge. Never block them, and keep cords and debris out of the path they travel.
Not sure? Send us a photo of the route in and the work area, and we will tell you straight which machine to take before the truck rolls.
Battery and charging
A full charge runs a normal indoor day, or about 8 hr of lifting and driving for a crew of 2. Driving between bays uses more charge than lifting does.
Plug it in every night, because the charger is on board and runs off a standard 110V outlet. Charge it overnight and you never lose an hour of the morning.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| No power on site yet | Tell us when you book and we will send it fully charged and plan the return |
| 2 shifts on 1 machine | Charge it through the lunch break. An hour buys you several more cycles |
| Machine will not lift | Check the tilt light and the battery level first. It is almost always one of those two |
| Machine drives slowly when raised | Drive speed drops when the platform is up. That is normal, not a fault |
| Low battery light comes on | Drive it to the charger. Running the batteries flat shortens their life |
The guardrails are the fall protection
In a scissor lift the rails, the closed gate and both feet on the deck are the fall protection, and OSHA does not require a harness unless your own site program calls for one. A boom lift is the opposite, where a harness goes on every time.
OSHA treats a scissor lift as a mobile scaffold under 29 CFR 1926.451, with operator training under 29 CFR 1926.454 and ANSI A92.22 and A92.24. Your employer must train and authorize the operator and keep a written safe use program on site.
- Renting does not certify anyone, and the walkthrough we give at drop off shows your crew the controls but is not a training card.
- Inspect the machine and run a function test at the start of every shift, including the ground controls and the emergency lowering.
- Never go past the 550 lb platform rating, because 2 people plus tools adds up fast, and the extension deck is rated lower still.
- Keep clear of energized lines and equipment, because this machine is not insulated.
- Work indoors only when the floor is firm and level, and nobody rides the platform while the machine is moved or hauled.

Common questions
Will it fit through a standard door?
The Genie GS-1930 is 30 in wide and the Skyjack SJIII 3219 is 32 in, so either one clears a 36 in door with room to spare. A door marked 32 in often has a clear opening nearer 30 in once you allow for the stop and the hinge side swing, and that is too tight. Measure the tightest point on the route and tell us that number when you book.
Do I need a harness in a scissor lift?
Not under OSHA, as long as the rails are up and the gate is closed, because in a scissor lift the rails are the fall protection. Some general contractors ask for a harness anyway, so check your own site program before the crew arrives.
Can I use it outside?
Only on firm, level, paved ground with no wind, because this is a slab lift and not a rough terrain machine. Gravel, dirt and ungraded lots are out of bounds for it.
How long does a charge last?
A normal indoor shift, or about 8 hr of lifting and driving, and it charges from any standard 110V outlet overnight using the charger on board.
Can I pick it up myself?
No, we haul this machine both ways and that is required. Inside 20 mi it is $95 each way, so $190 for the round trip.
Will it mark a finished floor?
No, it runs on solid rubber tires that do not mark the floor, which is why we send this one into occupied shops and offices.
