40 ft
electric scissor
lift rental
Genie GS-4047. The tallest electric machine we own, with 45 ft of working height, a 770 lb deck and room for 3. Still no exhaust and still no marks on the floor.
Rates don't include delivery, the 15% damage waiver or tax. See your out-the-door price with a quick quote. Delivery is required and billed each way.
High bay height without an engine
40 ft of platform and 45 ft of working height puts this at the top of the electric range. Above it you are into rough terrain machines or a boom, both of which cost more to rent and more to deliver.
It carries 770 lb and takes 3 people, which matters on high bay work where a crew of 2 plus material would be tight on a smaller deck.
Everything else stays the same. Batteries, tires that do not mark, no exhaust, so it still works inside an occupied building.
Rent it for high bay and atrium work
- High bay warehouse and cold storage
- Arena and atrium ceilings
- Tall racking installation
- High level lighting and cable tray
- Structure and ductwork above 38 ft

Which term to book
At $260/day and $584/week, the week breaks even a little past the second day. The month at $1,169 is close to 2 weeks at the week rate.
High bay jobs rarely wrap in a day, and the delivery cost is the same whichever term you pick, so the longer bookings usually win.
Included with every rental
- A current annual inspection, with the operator manual riding in the machine
- A full function check before it leaves the yard, so nothing surprises you on site
- A phone number that reaches the yard directly rather than a call center
Will it fit? 4 things decide it
Measure before you bookDoorway width
47 in across. This needs a roll up door, a dock or a double leaf opening, not a standard commercial door.
Door and ceiling height
100 in folded, which is 8 ft 4 in. That is the tallest stowed height in the range and the number that most often blocks a delivery.
Floor load and surface
7,185 lb. Ground floor slab is the safe assumption. Anything else needs the floor rating in writing.
Route and turning
98 in long. Check the turn into the working aisle, not just the width of the aisle itself.
This is the last electric step. If you need more than 45 ft of working height, or the ground is not a finished slab, the answer is a boom lift rather than a bigger scissor.
Tell us the ceiling height and the way in and we will confirm this is the right machine before it goes on the truck.
Battery and charging
It is the biggest pack in the range and it drives a heavier machine, so charging discipline matters more here than on the small ones.
Plug it in every night without fail. If the crew runs 2 shifts, book an hour on the charger in the middle of the day as well.
Operator rules
OSHA treats a scissor lift as a mobile scaffold under 29 CFR 1926.451, with operator training under 29 CFR 1926.454 and ANSI A92.22 and A92.24.
- Your employer trains and authorizes the operator and keeps a written safe use program on site.
- Inspect and function test at the start of every shift, including emergency lowering.
- Rails up, gate closed, both feet on the deck.
- 770 lb is the platform limit across all 3 occupants and their tools.
- Not insulated. Keep clear of energized lines and equipment.

Where we deliver
Common questions
Can 3 people go up at once?
Yes, this is the only machine in our scissor range rated for 3 occupants. The 770 lb platform limit still covers all 3 plus everything they carry.
Can I use a scissor lift on the second floor or a mezzanine?
Only with the floor rating confirmed by the building owner or an engineer. At 7,185 lb the load under each wheel is far higher than the machine weight spread evenly.
What if I need more than 45 ft?
Then you are past the electric range and into a boom lift. Our 45 ft machines reach 51 ft of working height and will run on dirt and grade as well.
Will it get through a standard door?
No. At 47 in wide it needs a roll up door or a dock. The 19 and 26 ft machines are the ones that go through a 36 in door.
